This day was so special for Alyssa and Tony and I was so happy to be a part of their intimate wedding at the Ventura City Hall. The Ventura City Hall is truly a little gem. It is located in Ventura CA which has some of the most desirable weather, almost always sunny and never too hot. There are a ton of gorgeous courthouses throughout Southern California and I shoot at a lot of them but Ventura Courthouse is one that most do not know about and I am here to show it off since it is such a beauty (if you are interested in seeing other courthouses in the area, check out this blog here or this one as well!).

Tony and Alyssa wanted to elope and make their day super intimate and sweet. We were able to capture so many beautiful shots at the courthouse on this day, the weather was showing off. For Alyssa and Tony, they hired a mobile officiant which is a very popular thing to do these days. I have many couples choose a location they love, whether that be a socal courthouse, the beach or a beautiful mission and then hire a mobile officiant to help make the day official. They are truly some of my favorite weddings to capture-full of so much love.

Here are a couple of shots to give you an idea of what the courthouse looks like, it is located on a bit of a hill and overlooks part of Ventura. The beach is also super close-by so if you were interested in adding on some coverage it would be a great location to have photos taken with a little bit of a different scenery.

This courthouse has some amazing trees that make for beautiful lighting situations and also allow the sun to glisten through. You can really shoot here at any hour and still get amazing shots. For Tony and Alyssa they got married in the morning around 9 am and it was still so perfect.

This bridge is also my favorite! I am always a sucker for a beautiful bridge, the Pasadena City Hall also has a beautiful and similar setup and I am always loving how the photos turn out at these spots.

 

 

Before we ended our session and as I do with all my courthouse couples, I make sure to grab some details of either rings, flowers or any vow books that they have for the day. This is a simple and small wedding but I still make it a priority to capture all those special heirlooms and details that are important to the bride and groom.
