We live in a world where wedding ceremonies and receptions have become such huge, expensive, detailed events. If you recently got engaged and the thought of that type of day gives you a little bit of anxiety, consider a courthouse wedding. This one is pretty self explanatory, but one of the biggest reasons so many of our couples opt out of a bigger event is because they don’t want to spend 1,000’s of dollars on one single day. They also want to be able to spend that money either towards a bigger ring, a fancier dress, a more extravagant honeymoon, or they want to buy a house instead. The list goes on and on, there are so many reasons why people opt for a smaller event. I work with so many couples that opt for the simpler day and they have numerous reasons why they choose that route.

Simple and Seamless:

Another reason so many of our couples choose to do a courthouse wedding is because it is super simple and a stress free process. You don’t have to spend months or years planning out so many crazy details. You can focus on your most important aspects, invite the most important people to you (most of my courthouse couples choose to have some family and friends present), but this can be an elopement for just you two also! Either way, having a simple day makes it SO much more enjoyable for a lot of people.

Intimate:

For a lot of our couples, having a courthouse wedding was purely based upon them wanting it to be intimate and not liking a ton of attention on them. Having to read vows in front of 100’s of people can be unnecessarily nerve racking. When having a courthouse wedding, you can keep it more private. You can focus your day on each other and not as much on every detail needing to be perfect.

Quick Availability:

Courthouses generally have way greater flexibility and available appointments than a larger venue. Almost all courthouses have availability throughout the entire week but some even have options for the weekend. The awesome thing that a lot of our couples love is the option to book sooner rather than waiting for an available weekend a year or longer.

Having a courthouse wedding is such a wonderful way to say I do. All of our couples end up loving their days and have such fond memories of their experiences. What is so awesome is that you can still wear your favorite dress, purchase a bouquet (which I always recommend 100%) and even have a fun celebration afterwards at a bar or restaurant with an extended group of friends and family.
