As a Southern California wedding photographer I have a ton of couples ask me what details I know on this topic and thought why not help more of you on this topic!
Below are the steps on how to get a marriage license in Beverly Hills
1. DETERMINE YOUR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS NEEDED:
-You both will need to be at least 18 years old
-You cannot be married or in a domestic relationship of any kind
-You cannot be closely related
-You will need to provide a government-issued photo ID, this can be a driver’s license, passport or a military ID will also work
2. COMPLETION OF THE MARRIAGE LICENSE:
As soon as you know that you both meet the eligibility requirements, you will want to complete the application for the marriage license. The form is located online or available at the Beverly Hills Courthouse. If you are getting married at the courthouse, check out this blog on how to get married at the Beverly Hills Courthouse! When you fill out the application, it will ask you for information like your names, dates of birth, social security etc.
3. SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE BEVERLY HILLS COURTHOUSE:
Once you have completed your application, you will want to schedule an appointment with the Beverly Hills Courthouse to complete all of your paperwork. This will be an in person meeting at the Beverly Hills Courthouse. To schedule your appointment, you can go online or call directly. If your wedding is going to be at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, you can schedule the appointment for the marriage license and the wedding appointment all in the same day. 4. PAYMENT FOR THE MARRIAGE LICENSE:
There will be a marriage license fee. The fee is currently $91 in Beverly Hills. You are able to pay by cash, credit card or check
5. HOW TO ACQUIRE YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE:
At the time of your appointment, you and your partner will want to appear in person at the Beverly Hills Courthouse to complete your paperwork and obtain your marriage license. Make sure to bring your government issued photo ID and you will pay the fee for the marriage license. After all of these steps are completed, you are legally authorized to marry in Beverly Hills. The marriage license is only valid for 90 days from the date it was issued.
If you follow all these steps, it should be a super easy process. If you are getting married at the actual courthouse, this process is even easier since you will be able to do it all at once! If you were wondering how to get a marriage license in Beverly Hills, I hope this blog was helpful to you!
